Rebecca the Light on the Lampost

light-shine.jpg

We call her Becky. She was the little girl in my church with the bright eyes and swift mind. The younger sister of a missionary. The daughter of a prophetess and minister. She was destined for greatness in the womb. God's hand was upon her from infancy. How can she not be amazing?  It's in her blood! She is one of a kind. She has played a supporting role on and off stage.  She is strong and confident for her sixteen years. She is a loyal team member of Another Realm Dance Ministry and her experience shows she can roll with the older crowd any day of the week!

What makes Rebecca a Parable Girl is not her confidence and what she has already accomplished it is not even her close relationship many great women of faith, although this certainly helps her walk with the Lord. What makes her a Parable Girl is her own level of trust in God. Her advice to young girls is "when things get rough and you get discouraged that is the best time to rest in God's characteristics and his Word!"  Becky's trust for God makes her in return trustworthy. She is there for people when they need her. She is a reliable friend. Parable girls are role models in a world where no one wants that responsibility. When most are worried about themselves Parable girls pray for the new generation of women that are to come and form long lasting bonds with like minded females.

Parable Key : You must have your own relationship with God in order for your light to shine (be effective) before others.

What makes Becky a Parable girl is simple, she is fearless, unshaken and grounded. She is determined to live a holy and pure life for God without compromise. But what gets me is she does it with an effortless flair. There is something about this girl that is so cool! Living a life for God is a daily sacrifice and a daily satisfaction. You can live the life God has called you out to live if you trust him like Becky. She is unafraid to spread light in a dark land. How many more will be saved if you are unafraid?

Keep shining Rebecca for His Glory!
